Richard Miller

Dr. Richard S. Miller is a Senior Professional Staff member at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. He is an astrophysicist whose research efforts have taken him from experiments deep underground in mines to satellites that orbit the Moon, from cataclysmic deaths of stars to the detection of water on the Moon, and from submarines to mountain tops. His work is currently focused on developing the Moon as a platform for astronomy. As a professor of physics and astronomy for over 15 years, he is committed to education and outreach to all ages and has appeared on several programs including public radio’s Science Friday. He still dreams of being an astronaut.
